Author-it's flagship product is an authoring, managing and publishing system for delivering content to multiple deliverables. Original developed as a help-authoring tool, it has a strong following in the online help market, but features print support as well.
The simple and straight forward interface means Author-it has many uses throughout organisations. User types include software user assistance and training, sales proposals, marketing collateral, to policies and procedures so on.
Presently Author-it does provide some XML support, but as an export format only using mappings from its internal data structures to XML. The authoring portions of Author-it do not provide real-time XML validation or rules enforcement for XML or DITA structures.
