At Publishing Expo 2010, Mekon ran the XML Clinic. The Clinic offered free consultations with an XML expert on tools and solutions, in a new place to learn about XML.
Feedback indicated that many visitors wanted to know more about where their industry peers are with XML and hear real XML examples from the publishing world.
If you couldn’t make it, or want to know why people visited us, here are our findings:
Attendees were:
- 62% New to XML and wanted to know whether XML was a magic cure-all. We helped them understand XML, and how it could help them facilitate ePublishing.
- 9% Already using XML and wanted to soundboard their strategy with an expert. We reviewed their approach to make sure that they were not missing out on additional benefits.
- 29% XML aware but wanted to understand how it simplifies eBooks, ePublishing and helps automate multi format delivery.
Overall, people were looking for help in identifying opportunities to streamline their content creation, management and delivery strategies.
Mekon are planning free follow-up webinars discussing these subjects. Please let us know if you would be interested in attending by emailing Paulo Newman, and if you have any specific subjects that you would like covered.
