Come and join the 3rd meeting of the ISTC Southern local area group. This is a FREE learning and networking opportunity for all technical communicators (NOTE you DO NOT have to be an ISTC member to attend)!
Mekon's Mark Poston will be delivering a presentaion focusing on how XML-related technologies, such as XML native databases and XQuery, can be used to create more engaging deliverables for end users. Who those end users are and their different needs is discussed. Using relevant examples, Mark shows not only how these new developments provide a more efficient means of publishing content but also how content can be delivered in ways that would otherwise be difficult to achieve.
In addition, Andrew Simpson from Raymarine will demonstrate, and give you the opportunity to play with, the WindchillCMS/Arbortext/DITA/AntennaHouse combination publishing system that they use for technical authoring and 16-language localization.
