Adobe Capture Handheld is the most advanced intelligent data capture solution available for handheld devices running Microsoft Pocket PC and Handheld PC. Capture Handheld allows mobile workers to capture data through intelligent forms, validate the records entered, and submit the data to back-office systems. A biometric signature (electronic "handwritten" signature) can also be initiated from the device to ensure its validity and complete a business transaction.

How it works

Forms are created using Adobe Form Designer which provides form designers with a familiar environment to rapidly design and deliver solutions for the handheld devices. Once the form is created and installed on the mobile device, Capture Handheld enables users to select their application, fill in the appropriate fields — with validations and automatic calculations, pull-down menus, check boxes, and radio buttons — and submit the data into a core business system.

Capture Handheld module enables mobile workers to retrieve their forms directly from Adobe Form Server when in a connected mode. The forms can then be completed online or offline and signed. The data is submitted when the online connection is re-established.

Mobile workers can easily synchronise their devices to access and submit the captured data to back-office systems, start new business processes, and perform subsequent approval steps remotely. Users can synchronise records through wireless transfer, cradle base synchronisation, or through the Adobe Workflow Server solution. Capture Handheld can also connect to various middleware and to the Adobe Central Pro Output Server engine.
